Coed Tyn Gongl is situated on the southeast side of a small hill, half a mile from the coast and near the village of Valley, Anglesey. There is a quiet country lane to the front of the woodland, with a gate and area suitable for parking.
The woodland was planted in 1999 over three fields defined by ancient hedgerows. The fertile, free draining soils have resulted in a well-established mixed broadleaf woodland. The species composition is roughly 75% ash with mixed broadleaf making up the remainder. Other species include field maple, birch, hornbeam and oak. The current owner has nurtured the plantation through regular pruning and grass cutting.
A useful cabin is included, sitting on high ground to the northeast. There is an area of decking with views of the Snowdonia mountain range to the south and behind the cabin are views to the north of Holy Island and the Irish Sea. There is electric lighting by solar panel and a small multi-fuel burner.
A path meanders through the wood, past bluebells, daffodils and various ferns such as hearts tongue and broad buckler. There are several clearings including one where the current owner has previously cultivated vegetables. Birdboxes and feeders can be found in places whilst wildlife sightings include hedgehogs, buzzards, robins, white collared doves and dunnocks.

Directions & Access
- Leave the A55 at Junction 3 (signposted Caergiliog, Valley A5 and Amlwch).
- Take the A5 into Valley and turn right at the crossroads onto the A5025 with Valley Motors on your right.
- After 1 ½ miles you pass a 40mph limit sign and a house on the left, take the sharp turn to your left.
- In ¾ of a mile you will come to a gate on the right with a woodland managed by ‘Red Rock Forestry’ sign.
- Park in the layby up ahead on the right.
- The southeast boundary is the hedge between the road and the woodland.
- Part of the northeast boundary is marked by an earth bund.
- All other boundaries are the hedges between the woodland and agricultural fields.
We believe that the sporting rights are included.
We believe the mineral rights are included except where reserved by statute.
Rights Of Way
There is a public right of way that passes through part of the northeast corner.
We are not aware of any fencing obligations.
