Shellbrook Pasture is located down a quiet lane right on the border between England and Wales. It has two good access gates directly off a council road. The stream that forms the eastern boundary is actually the border between England and Wales, it is fast flowing and runs all year round.
The pasture is a permanent ley and has recently had a weed control operation to improve its productivity. The land faces east and slopes down to the stream. One old hedge line divides a smaller paddock towards the road but most of the pasture is one large field dotted with hawthorn bushes.
Along the banks of the stream (Shell Brook) there are some large mature trees and two small areas of mature poplars. Mains water supplies three drinking troughs spaced out across the area.
From the top of the pasture there are magnificent views and a great place to sit and enjoy the total peace and tranquillity of this remote yet easily accessed property. A couple of flat areas are hidden away at the top of the land and would make wonderful camping sites for family retreats.

If It Were Mine
I would continue to cut the few weeds (mainly nettles and thistles) to ensure the grass dominance in the pasture. I would graze the land with livestock of my choice and spend the summer weekends camping in the ideal flat areas at the top of the land.

Directions & Access
- Leave the small town of Overton on the A528 signed for Ellesmere.
- About ½ mile from the cross roads in the centre of town turn right onto the B5069 signed for Oswestry.
- After a further ½ mile, take the first turning on the left just before Gwalia Farm.
- After ½ mile at the hamlet of Rhewl, take the first right at a small crossroads down a narrow lane.
- Drive down this lane for ½ mile and as the road descends you will see our ‘Woods4sale’ sign attached to a gate. This is the primary access gate to Shellbrook Pasture.
- Please park tight in to the gate so you do not block the road.
- The north east fence at the top of the fields is an agricultural fence.
- The short north west boundary is a hedge.
- The south west boundary is the centre of the stream.
- The roadside boundary is a hedge.
The sporting rights are owned and included in the sale.
The mineral rights are owned and included in the sale except where reserved by statute.
