A discount is offered for the purchase of the two woodlands as one lot.
A very attractive broadleaved woodland in a secluded location. The majority of the area is semi-mature Beech woodland with some small areas of mature and semi-mature Scots Pine to add to the diversity.
It is located just outside the market town of Ruthin, with easy access from the main road and a hard forest road running up to and along the boundary.
This woodland is largely flat or gently sloping with excellent access. The semi-mature Beech trees have been thinned some years ago and are growing well. A small group of Scots Pine adds diversity to the woodland. Other tree species here include Larch, Oak, Ash and a group of huge Lime trees on the northern boundary along the side of the forest road.
The site is largely level and the soils are fine well drained loamy soils over limestone, well suited to the Ash regeneration prolific over much of this site.
The site is in an elevated position just outside the attractive market town of Ruthin, with easy access to the A55 Expressway to the north, or the A5 to the south. It is on the edge of a much larger forest, in a very quiet and peaceful location with other woodland on three sides.
The access to Garden Wood from the A494 is over a hard forest road, suitable for all types of vehicles, all year round. This forest road runs up to the woodland and then along the northern and eastern boundary.
Bluebells are present in some areas in the spring time and the more open areas are abundant with wild flowers.
There are restrictive covenants on this property that prevent certain activities. Please click on the link below to view the covenants.
From Ruthin town centre follow signs for Bala on the A494. About 800 metres from the last mini-roundabout on the edge of the town you will see double wooden gates on your right hand side. Just inside the gates is a sign saying “Castle Wood”. These are the main gates to the forest.
The gates are kept locked and you will have to park here, climb the gate, and walk in along the forest road for about ¾ mile to reach Garden Wood. This will take you 10 minutes. If this is too far for you, please call our office to arrange for an appointment for an accompanied viewing. We are sorry but we do not provide keys for unaccompanied viewings.
From the gate, follow the hard road round a couple of bends, along a straight, and then keep right where the road forks.
Continue past the fork until you get to a wooden post on your right with a red and green painted top. Turn left here.
After about 150 metres you will see a wooden post on your right with a blue painted top. This is the north east corner of Garden Wood, as marked with an X on the plan below.
